Etymology:

Proposal 1. This root may come from a PSUA root *patsi, which weakened /p/ to Proto-Corachol-Nahua /h/ hatsí and then /ʔ/, giving 'átsi.
Proposal 2: This root may come from Proto-Corachol-Nahuan *tsoi "bat" with an added prefix, ʔa-/ha of unknown meaning.
