You can consult the dictionary in several ways:
- You can search for a specific term, by entering it directly into the search bar "Search SUALEX", you can search for both English terms and terms in SUA languages, as well as reconstructions (if you search for a reconstruction do not start with *).
- You can browse for entries in English to see all forms and reconstructions associated with a specific English sense e.g. "Bat" or "Heart".
- You can browse for entries of attested roots in each of the language groups, e.g. Nahuan roots.
- You can browse for reconstructions for a specific proto-language, e.g. "Proto-Corachol-Nahuan roots", or "Pre-Nahuan roots".
- You can browse for words in a specific language by using the wordlists, which link words in the various languages to their etyma.
